EVEN THOUGH IT CAN COST MORE
THAN A VERTICAL, A HORIZONTAL MACHINING CENTER CAN BE A BETTER BUY.
WHY?
Scott Roake, President
Tomenson Machine Works, St. Charles, IL
Manufacturer Hydraulic Manifolds
EXPLAINS...
“We purchased our
first Mazak in 1983. Over the years we have
purchased 50 Mazak machining
centers. A
majority of the purchases have been horizontals.
Currently, Tomenson Machine Works has
an additional two
HCN4000-II Horizontal machining centers on order with Mazak. One
machine is a 40 tool and the other being a 80 tool machine.
We are excited with the new additions and the new technology
of the Mazak HCN4000 with Matrix controls. These
two machine will be showcases to Tomensons customers.
Tomenson Machine Works specializes in machining complicated
precision hydraulic manifolds. We run them almost exclusively on
horizontals for fast throughput. With the horizontals, we receive raw
material in one day and we’re shipping finished manifolds the next day.”
